Scottish national cyclocross champions set for return to Camperdown

will take place on Sunday 13e In November, the National Cyclocross Championships will look to build on a brilliant 2021 edition, where Scottish Cycling Performance Program athlete Anna Flynn (Edinburgh RC) won gold in the women’s event, before Charles Fletcher won the men’s title, as the grounds of the former golf course came alive with action.

We are also delighted to see the return of the Scottish Cyclocross Association (SXC) series for 2022-23 after a two-year hiatus caused by the pandemic.

The SCX Series kicks off on September 18 on the Black Isle of Muir of Ord and will include exciting new courses – such as Ballantrae Beach and Brechin – offering a mix of terrain and surely something to challenge every driver.

With previous SCX round winners including UCI World Cup rider Cameron Mason and Team Scotland‘s Isla Short and Charlie Aldridge, the series has offered Scottish riders great opportunities for elite cyclocross racing local.

Upon the return of the series, Howard Perkins, Chairman of the SCX Committee, said:

“At our AGM earlier this year, we said our number one priority was to re-establish the SCX series, so I’m extremely grateful to the organizers who have committed to hosting the series races announced today. We hope to add even more races to provide varied competition throughout the season across Scotland.”

Scottish cycling chief executive Nick Rennie agreed, saying:

“It’s fantastic to be hosting the Scottish CX series again for 2022-23. I commend the SCX committee for all their hard work in ensuring we see a full cyclocross series after the pandemic. I want to thank our fantastic team of event organizers across the country, who do a great job of ensuring that our lineup of cyclocross events gets better every year, while still being fun and accessible to everyone. is no different with some new courses at Brechin and Ballantrae Beach as well as some old favorites such as Kinneil X at Bo’ness.

Returning from the National Championship in Dundee, Rennie added:

“It will also be great to return to Camperdown Park as I know the Scottish National Cyclocross Championships last year were a fantastic success, so hopefully we will see another great Championship event in Dundee in November. “

The confirmed dates for SCX 2022-23 are as follows:

  1. Muir of Ord – September 18
  2. Brechin – October 16
  3. Ballantrae Beach – October 30
